The Movie Mortal Kombat, A film directed by Simon McQuoid tells the story of Cole Young (Lewis Tan) and his journey to help and fight in The Mortal Kombat. With co stars Jessica McNamee and Australian Josh Lawson who play Sonya Blade and Kano. These characters have to try and fight the 9-time champions of the Mortal Kombat, Shang Tsung (Ng Chin Han) and his gang of evil characters Subzero, Mileena, Nitara, Reiko, Kabal and Goro hoping to when they win, they can take over earth. I would give this movie 7 out of 10. This is because I thought the story was enjoyable. I thought the writers did an excellent job of bringing these video game characters to the big screen. The acting was incredible. Josh Lawson did an amazing job as performing as Kano. I thought he was extremely funny and was an excellent choice for the film. The actors who play Sub-zero (Joe Taslim) and Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) did an excellent job as these characters everyone knows and loves. The things that drags the movie down a bit was its use of visual effects. I am not a perfectionist but some of the scene’s CGI look a little off. But overall, it was a very good film that I would highly recommend. Mortal Kombat will be open in cinemas on April 23, 2021 as well as on HBO Max.
