My Raiting: 6/10
[SPOILER WARNING]
The brand new Thor movie brings back familiar faces as well as some amazing new ones. This Marvel Studios movie was vibrant and full of colours that was amazing to watch. During this film we can tell right away that this film is made by director Taika Waititi. With this movie being focused on the comedy rather than the action. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just rather it might not be what you expecting from a Marvel movie.
In this film we see the obvious return of fan favourites like Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) as well as Korg (Taika Waititi). as well as the retun of the newly introduced mighty Thor/ Jane foster (Natalie Portman). We get introduced to our main villian Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). Bales performance in this film is unlike anything we have seen him play. Gorr is truely a terrifying villain and we can see that he is doing all these acts of terror for his daughter.
Overall this movie was alright. Personally the story alone was great, but it hasn't yet made it feel conected to anyother marvel movie. There were some parts of the movie I feel didn't need to happen to make the story go forward. In this film no one really died. Although at the end Jane does bight the dust there were multiple instances where I thought people were left for dead. For example Lady siff, we see stabbed waiting to die, but instead we see her survive. Another person was also Valkyrie who we see nearly dying on the field. but we see she heals and gets better. I know that marvel doesn't want to get rid of certain characters just yet, but then don't write that they nearly do.
The end credit scenes I was really hyped for. [SPOILER WARNING.] In the mid credit scene we see that zeus is still alive after everyone thinking Thor killed him. We see Zeus (Russel Crow) talking to Hercules (Brett Goldstien) When I saw this I was super excited to see that they finally added one of my favourite comic heros to the big screen. The end credit scene where we see Hiemdall and Jane in their version of heaven (Valhalla.) Personally I think this was a waste of a scene. They should have used it to either have something to do with the Loki season 2 or start leading their way up to Kang.
In my opinion I love all marvel movies and none of them have really been bad. I have enjoyed all of them, but I feel that this recent phase of marvel has done a terrible job in connecting them to each other. Hopefully they will start to intertwine and make more sense. I give this movie a 6/10 for the reasons I stated above. I reccomend any marvel or Chris Hemsworth fan to still see this film before it leaves the cinemas.
